Due Passi Italian Street Food
Mela Creative developed an edgy and modern brand identity and print collateral for a new café ‘Due Passi' serving Italian Street Food. Boasting artisan coffee and authentic Italian flavours, Due Passi is tucked away near the water's edge in Abbotsford, Sydney. The name Due Passi is colloquial Italian for close by or literally, two steps, and was created by Mela to reflect the local, personal service provided by Augusto, or Gus, an Italian native who wanted to bring the food culture of the back streets of Rome to his new local community.
The contemporary logo was created with customised characters to establish a link to the authenticity and free nature of Italian Street Food. The pedestrian crossing icon reinforces locality, a place to walk to each morning for your coffee or meet friends for lunch. The logo is highlighted throughout the cafe from the signage, customised menus, uniforms, coffee cards and all printed collateral.
Mela Creative also designed, printed and installed a large-scale feature wall, transforming the experience of eating to the actual streets of Italy. The image is of a back street in Trastevere, a busy and charming district of Rome that is famous for its small town, local ambience.
