Category: Vibrant and Versatile Graphics for Retail Leasing

Mela Creative partnered with Frank Knight Real Estate once again to transform vacant retail spaces at Wicks Place in Marrickville, Sydney. This time, we focused on creating bold, on-brand signage that would energise the precinct, attract potential tenants and build anticipation around the development.

Challenge: Bold, Branded, and Inviting
Our goal was to craft visually engaging graphics that would speak to the lifestyle and culture of Marrickville. We used a mix of people and food-themed imagery to reflect the precinct’s community focus and commercial potential. To reinforce the Wicks Place identity, we drew from the geometric line work already featured in the building’s architecture and signage, amplifying it through our design. The brand’s distinctive green/teal colour was carried throughout to ensure a cohesive and recognisable look.

Designed for Practical Impact
To conceal the construction work behind the windows, we used opaque film across the shopfronts, creating a clean and polished exterior. Mela Creative also coordinated closely with our signage supplier to oversee the installation, ensuring every panel was aligned and finished to the highest standard.

Solution: Branded Flexibility
The signage was designed with flexibility in mind. Individual panels could be removed as shops were leased, without affecting the surrounding artwork. This allowed for a seamless visual transition from vacant to vibrant, maintaining the overall impact as the precinct filled with new tenants.

Through bold visuals, a strong brand presence and clever functionality, Mela Creative helped transform Wicks Place from an empty shell into an exciting retail opportunity.
